Delta Assembly Speaker, Igbuya has been Impeached

Mr Igbuya was impeached by lawmakers on Thursday morning at about 6 am.

Unconfirmed sources say Mr Igbuya was impeached after twenty-two (22) out of the twenty-nine (29) members of the state’s Legislative Assembly signed his impeachment.

The Speaker was impeached over his alleged abuse of office and highhandedness

Meanwhile, the lawmaker representing Okpe constituency, Sheriff Oborevwori has been elected as the new Speaker.

The impeached Speaker and some House members are in a closed door meeting with the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa
