Garba Durbunde, a member of house of representatives, who was abducted along the Abuja-Kaduna highway, has been released.
Tunde Adela, an aideof the lawmaker representing Takai/Sumaila federal constituency of Kano state at the lower legislative chamber, confirmed the release of his principal to TheCable, but refused to go into details.
But a source said that the legislator was released after an undisclosed ransom was paid.
Durbunde was said to have been abducted while returning to the nation’s capital after a trip to Kano.
Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of the state, had condemned the abduction and called on security agencies to secure his release.
Durbunde served as a commissioner in the administration of Rabiu Kwakwanso, former governor of Kano who is now a senator.
