The National Coordinator, SERVICOM, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli, has urged civil servants to imbibe the culture of time management for enhanced productivity.
Akajemeli, who is also the Chief Executive Officer, SERVICOM, made the call in Abuja on Thursday while addressing a group of pupils from Astute Montessori School, Kuje, who paid her a courtesy visit.
The CEO said that effective time management was critical to efficient service delivery and advised public servants to be conscious of it.
While explaining the operations of SERVICOM to the pupil, she stressed the need for public servants to be committed to their jobs for sustained development in the country.
“It is very important for civil servants to imbibe the culture of effective time management or they will be regarded as incompetent.
“The era of going to office late has passed and we will ensure that workers manage their time well while carrying out their duties.

“My aspiration is to have a Nigeria where service will truly serve the people,’’ she said.
The coordinator said that the visit of the students was apt as the organisation was embarking on a `catch them young’ programme.
Akajemeli explained that the programme was to inculcate in the younger generation, the culture of punctuality and dedication to duty.
She encouraged the children to develop the right attitude to work by speaking politely to citizens.
Earlier, Mr Ankuhe Usher, the teacher who led the students, said the visit was to enlighten the children on activities of SERVICOM.
Usher expressed dissatisfaction toward service delivery in the country, claiming that he had been a victim of failed service delivery.
He described the `catch them young’ programme as a step in the right direction to ensure that the younger generation imbibe the culture of doing the right thing at the right time.
